WISL Tree Generation

WISL Tree Generator is a mechanism for representing data in a tree like structure. The goal is to represent spatial and temporal relationships more effectively than may be accomplished in text based information reporting. Simple shape figures are used to convey the nature and boundaries of data objects (circles, rectangles, triangles etc). Straight lines are used to establish connectivity between data objects with distance (length) and direction establishing hierarchical and/or temporal relationships between data objects.

WISL has developed a generalized facility (Tree File Generator) that imports transactional data from operational business information systems such as logistics, retail sales, manufacturing or from corporate ERP systems. Appropriate data files are maintained and access is provided to these files with Tree Report Generator which generates xml files that may be accessed for display by Tree Report Display.

Compiled Perl along with Java is employed to handle most of the display and interactive data access. Open Source MySQL is employed to provide for record selection and sorting of the objects used in Tree Display. Backup of the data base may be provided by employing RAID technology and/or a redundant webserver.
