The goal of WISL Webtrip is to provide a web based facility
for the collection of customer orders that may then be interfaced with the crate and truck
modelling facilities of WISL Distribution Control to generate an optimized trip for an
individual destination. The order records generated may be submitted to the corporate
order entry system via WISL EDIT Order Extensions. The order records would be sent from
the corporate order entry system to WISL DCS, the trip record would be generated and
passed on to the facilities of WISL DCS for generation of documentation and control over
the distribution process.

1. Access to the routine is
provided to the users via a browser provided by the licensee. The browser must run on a
web server. The web server may reside on a computer connected to the internet(thus making
it an internet application) or on a computer connected to the local area network on which
the logistics server is connected(possibly the same machine) which would make it an
intranet application.
2. Customer/consignee and sku files may be used to facilitate effective
and accurate collection of order data. These files would be downloaded periodically from
the licensee's server that runs the WISL Distribution Control system.
3. Orders are modelled interactively through invoking the crate and
truck modelling facilities of WISL DCS.
4. Upon completion of data entry for each order a transaction is
generated to be stored and sent in batch(via FTP) to corporate order entry system.
5. The orders are sent from the corporate order entry system to WISL
DCS and upon completion of the modelling process for each trip(due to the composition of
the interactively modelled orders each order will equate to one trip) the trip record is
then passed on to WISL DCS to generate trip documentation(pick lists, labels, bol etc.) and
to control the distribution process.
