Here we profile someone or some aspect of WISL to create a
better understanding of our operations, goals and people.
Bud Walker
One of the founding partners of WMW(see Editorial), Bud was the Director of the Data Processing
Department at the University of Waterloo when the 1980's began. With senior executive
experience in administration with a large organization, Bud setup the financial, legal and
administrative activities for WMW. In addition to working a fulltime job and setting
up this new venture Bud also found time to run the small farm on which he lives. Two
decades ago Bud kept 40 - 50 head of beef cattle as well as maintaining the crops to feed
them. Fortunately he had a couple of growing boys to help out.
Bud played a key role in the incorporation of WISL and
deserves much of the credit for the selected name as he was quite insistent upon including
the word "Waterloo". He also initiated leads that resulted in establishing
WISL in the membership marketplace and eventually in transportation management.

Circumstances tend to change over time and by the early 90's Bud's
plate was very full and he decided WISL had to move on without him. With his sons
out of the house Bud no longer works his farm either but he has moved on with the
University of Waterloo to become the University's Director of Business Operations.
