We have now developed a client/server implementation of WISL's QUIKREP facility. The major objective of this effort is to provide a user interface that is similar to other facilities that are in common use on the desktop(eg. EXCEL, WORD, WordPerfect etc.). Although the integration of the server text based version of QUIKREP with these facilities is quite extensive, the integration with QUIKREP/CS appears even more seamless.

Adopting the familiar desktop gui user interface is advantageous since QUIKREP is not a facility that tends to be utilized as frequently as others. Hence the more familiar mechanism for navigating through the application reduces the start-up time and eases the transition between it and other desktop facilities.
