John Oss

    John's involvement with WISL dates back to his days with Cottrell Transport in the early 90's. He was the key line manager involved in the first implementation of WISL's auto-rating mechanism for a carrier. Although a transportation professional, John has a strong interest in computers and has demonstrated a sympathetic understanding of the considerations of computerized business information systems. At Cottrell he provided the key transitional understanding for user personnel that led to a successful implementation.

    After leaving Cottrell, John maintained contact with WISL during several transportation related endeavours. Most recently John has been instrumental in the acquisition by Fastair Cargo Systems Ltd of the rating modules of WISL's Freight Analysis Information System(FAIS). Having successfully implemented the auto-rating for the purpose of providing rate quotations to customers, John is now coordinating the effort to integrate auto-rating with Fastair's billing system.

    Bilingual from his days in Montreal, John has insured that the considerations of the French language have been accommodated in FAIS. He has been a significant contributor to specifing requirements and testing for freight rating needs but also in the development of the generalized mechanism for providing second language support in WISL products.
