Here we profile someone or some aspect of WISL to create a better understanding of our operations, goals and people.

Brian Parker

Brian was a teenager when he first joined WISL on a work term from the University of Waterloo in 1985. He has left his mark on every major development effort that the company has undertaken since. Not only has he been an important participant in the development of most of WISL's information systems products but he has played a key role in the evolution of the system that WISL utilizes to develop those applications, SCADS.

Brian recognized at once that structured development was essential to effective computerized information systems. He led many of the initiatives to incorporate structured features into WISL's Screen Control Application Development System. The excellent responsiveness which accompanies embellishments to WISL products owes a lot to the high professionalism of our staff but also to SCADS developed applications that because they are so well structured, are easy to maintain.

As we move into the realm of desktop and web based applications(QUIKREP/CS, Weborder, Webbill etc.) Brian as Vice President of Application Development intends to incorporate the same type of structured controls that have been so successful with our text based applications.
