Black Beauty

The latest addition to WISL's computing environment is an IBM Netfinity server. It is the platform on which we are evaluating Windows 2000. The early reviews are very positive. Many of the functions that were being performed on an older server running Windows NT have been transferred to the new platform. It is now serving as our primary webserver and the development platform for web based applications. We have also installed the UniVerse DBMS on the system and have verified that it can support all of our text based applications. Eventually it will also function as our network domain controller.
