Todd Lazenby

Todd was in attendance at the first meeting between ABT Canada Limited and WISL. His involvement in our efforts with ABT has been continuous since that day. As the principal interface with WISL for implementation of several information systems, Todd has been a key facilitator in the success of the efforts.

There are two major considerations in the implementation of an information system for an organization, the system must be integrated with existing corporate computerized information systems and the system must be integrated into the procedural and organizational structure of the customer. The first problem can provide some daunting challenges as there can be potential difficulties in obtaining resources to perform activities required to prepare existing corporate information systems to integrate with the new system and human interaction difficulties may arise due to possible differences in technical background or philosophy. Usually technical difficulties in integrating with the corporate systems
are minor compared to the challenges facing the integration of a new system into the existing procedural and organizational structure.

Implementation of a new information system means change. Certainly there will be changes in procedures and jobs may be restructured significantly or even eliminated in the process. Given the natural resistance that we all harbour against change in our lives, a key role in facilitating the implementation process brings significant challenges in interpersonal relations. Todd has been more than equal to these challenges and has been an important contributor to the success that has been achieved in implementing WISL information systems at ABT Canada and elsewhere within the ABT corporate family.
